Each week yours truly, Cate O’Connor, welcomes a new guest to chat about an iconic couple in TV, film, or literary history that rocked their sweet baby world and changed them forever.

Our outlook on life is shaped by story. But, of course, not all stories are created equal, in fact some are forgotten as quickly as we forget about the pop-corn we inhaled through the trailers.

But, a special few have moulded us into the perfect little weirdos we are. Some stories reflect our very deepest desires and help to put words to feelings we had never been able to verbalise ourselves.

More importantly, it was through story Cate experienced desire for the first time, and, quite genuinely, fell in love. Sure, these crushes were fictional, but in no way were her feelings.

Which is exactly why The Meet Cute was born, a chance to chat about our favourite characters and relationships, to unpack why we were so moved, how they shaped us, and, of course, discuss the enduring effect on our guests current love life.
